Nanatsu no Taizai: The Origins

The original manga of “The Seven Deadly Sins” was published by Nakaba Suzuki in the Weekly Shōnen Magazine between October 2012 and August 2020, and was later compiled into 41 volumes by Kodansha. Suzuki began publishing “Mokushiroku no Yon-kishi” (The Four Knights of the Apocalypse) in the same magazine in January 2021. As of today, it continues, with 10 compiled volumes already, and serves as a direct sequel to “The Seven Deadly Sins”, set in Britannia, with the story beginning in a place called “God’s Finger”.

The Four Knights of the Apocalypse are said to be an order of only four knights (as indicated by their name), each of whom are possessed of unique powers and are predicted to emerge in the fairly near future. The same prophecy says that they will destroy the world after their appearance, bringing with them four different calamities. It is said that his destiny is to bring King Arthur and the Kingdom of Camelot to total ruin. From the point at which their appearance has been confirmed, the Holy Knights of Camelot and the Kingdom of Liones will be searching for them.

In addition to the famous manga, “The Seven Deadly Sins” has anime adaptations. A-1 Pictures produced the first two seasons of the animated series, as well as the movie “Prisoners of the Sky”, and the series/OVA “The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War”. The third season was produced by Studio DEEN, as was the fourth, which premiered on January 6, 2021, on Japanese television. All the aforementioned content is currently available on Netflix.
