Perhaps some will recognize “Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi” (“Tying the Knot With an Amagami Sister“) as one of the most entertaining mangas of 2021. If so, it won’t be news to you that we are expecting an anime adaptation of this work very soon, right? Well, recently, the official website for this animated project has revealed a new promotional image, as well as confirming its premiere window for this Autumn 2024 (October – December) in Japan, and it will be broadcast over six continuous months, completing a total of twenty-four episodes.
The author, Marcey Naitou, who was an assistant to Negi Haruba on the manga “Gotoubun no Hanayome” (“The Quintessential Quintuplets“), began publishing the manga through Kodansha‘s Weekly Shonen Magazine in April 2021. She had previously published this story as a one-shot in December 2020, but it gained enough relevance to become her first serialized work.

- Yuujirou Abe (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo!, Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! 3, Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen) is in charge of directing the anime at Studio Drive.
- Yasuko Aoki (Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Bakuen wo!, Uchi no Kaisha no Chiisai Senpai no Hanashi, Kami Kuzu☆Idol) is also in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Haruko Iizuka (Horimiya, Inu x Boku SS, Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge) is in charge of character design.

Synopsis
“Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi” tells the story of Uryuu Kamihate, a young man with a difficult past who aspires to enter medical school. Raised in an orphanage, Uryuu sees an opportunity for stability when he is taken in by the head priest of the Amagami Shrine. However, this new life comes with an unexpected surprise: he must not only live with the priest, but also with the three Amagami sisters—Asahi, Yuna, and Yae—who are charming but very energetic and full of life.
Living with the Amagami sisters is anything but calm. Each sister has her own distinctive personality and dynamics that add complexity to the daily life at the shrine. Uryuu, who was looking for a peaceful refuge for his studies, finds himself immersed in comedic and romantic situations. In addition to adapting to his new environment, he faces the challenge of fulfilling the shrine’s tradition: he is destined to marry one of the Amagami sisters and eventually take over the temple.
As Uryuu and the Amagami sisters face daily challenges together, a plot of self-discovery and familial bonds unfolds. The manga’s focus on comedy and romance intertwines with themes of personal growth and the importance of family, offering readers an enjoyable mix of humor and touching moments.
I suppose we can all agree that it’s never a bad time to receive one of those charming “harems” full of funny situations, and even better if it involves sisters, right?
